MBFWA - Bowie Spring Summer 2012 - 2013
Ethereal finale
A story of the Impossible... Aura by Bowie was one of the most glamorous and unique haute couture collections presented so far at MBFWA.
It was a visceral experience too with thunder, sounds of rain and flashes of lighting to open the show. The sun rose and models emerged onto the runway one after another like delicate orchids made of silk, organza and handcrafted embroidery. Structured bodices combined with delicate light lace creations, overflowing with unique details and sensual silhouettes. As Mr Bowie Wong says, the collection was inspired by the colour white, the highest layer of Aura. It took him 10 months to create it.
In white, pale gold and silver the ethereal dresses are the essence of purity. One dress had a cape shaped armored top that consisted of thousands of tiny bells that made a tiny symphony of tinkling every time the model took a step. A gown for a goddess. No wonder a few of first-class celebrities flew in from LA to attend only one show - Bowie!
