Summer 2012 trend report: day wear
After many hours spent reviewing Spring Summer 2012 collections, I finally compiled a trend report. These are my favorite day wear looks that I'll be going for this summer.
White head to toe ensembles (Givenchy) are perfect for day and by adding metallic elements can be easily transformed into a nigh wear, i.e. gold belt and jacket (Balmain).
Bold floral prints to create happy holiday mood in the middle of the working week. A must have! As summer won't be complete without flowers in your wardrobe.
Feminine pastel shorts paired with whimsical blouses: retro chic in peach as seen at Diane Von Furstenberg or in elegant flowing silk at Chloe.
Wide leg pants paired with plain white blouses. Yet save your usual black trousers for winter and go for a statement color instead - metallic grey in Celine or ocean green Chloe. Wide belt is desirable but not necessary.
Romantic ensembles in lace fabrics. Wear these for a Sunday afternoon frozen cocktail session on a roof top bar (or on your friend's balcony with a view, to make it more realistic).
On a final note, color blocking trend won't be here next summer. We'll also wave goodbye to neon and stripes. So be wise with your shopping, think twice before spending your money on some crazy town orange pants:) Instead you may wish to invest in softer shades of brights, anything floral print and lace. These will last more than one season.
