Summer 2012 trend report: party time
Party season is almost here! Can you smell champagne in the air? Do you know what are you wearing? I know… This is the most difficult part. Always so many choices… To simplify this task, I compiled a special ‘party edition’ trend report on the 5 hottest cocktail and party styles. See, I’m not saying dresses… because new summer 2012 fashion takes us further than just that.
Ultra short shorts have been crawling into our wardrobes since 2010 and now reached its peak with these embellished luxurious highwaisted versions. In 2012 shorts will be everywhere – during the day in its smarter and longer version (see example here) and as it gets darker the shorts get shorter. I especially love the Dolce & Gabbana combo – beads embellished shorts and lace top.
BANDEAU & PENCIL SKIRTS
Perfect combo for a cocktail party. Prada and Nina Ricci nailed it, so you can too. Please note, bandeau style tops to be worn with a modest midi skirt and a classic pointy heel. No exposed belly buttons are acceptable. I would not recommend wearing this style to a corporate Christmas party either. There is no guarantee your boss will understand your fashion forward moves.
A luxury evening version of a bandeau style – cropped top paired with a full maxi skirt. Add a very serious face and a crucifix to balance the exposed mid section. Adore Emilio Pucci! Buy the way, the make up for this show was amazing too.
Do I need to say anything? This body hugging mini will make you a queen of any party. To distinguish yourself from a Christmas tree, pair sequin dress with low key/no accessories and nude heel.
The ladies at Sass&Bide never seem to run out of ideas. This dress has it all. Same as Balmain’s heavily armored jewelled version of a traditional bodycon. Pair with combat or high-heeled booties for a military feel.
Hope you enjoyed this compilation and found it somehow inspirational. Let me know which look is your favorite. You know I love hearing reading what you think, lovelies :)
