Fabulous Friday: “Come over to the dark side” manicure
Fashion world is paying a lot of attention to nails in this season. Designers all around the world collaborating with nail specialists to create manicure customised to their collections. At the 2011 Rosemount Australian Fashion Week moon shape, metallic foil coatings and mint colour were the most popular manicure trends. Inspired by runway gorgeousness I decided to create my own version of designer nails. Initial idea was to create a super bright manicure but then my life-long love for dark colors and glitter has won over fluoro fashion trend. Plus, it was a perfect opportunity to try more of Sally Hansen products won in competition.
So here is a how to guide for creating this manicure:

You will need: dark nail polish, silver or any other glittery nail polish, protective base, top coating and sticky tape!

1. Apply one layer of protective base. I used Sally Hansen’s Miracle Cure as my nails are dry and tend to chip. Give it a couple of minutes to dry.

5. Apply silver nail polish over the shape created with sticky tape. I used famous nail color pen “Color Quick” by Sally Hansen.

6. Remove sticky tape and apply a top layer to fix the pattern. I used Insta-Grip fast dry base coat.
Hope you find this tutorial entertaining and somehow inspirational. The only thing I should mention, it takes time to do this manicure. So before starting on your nail adventure, make sure you have enough time to complete it. I did the “Come over to the dark side” before my baby was born when I have had plenty of time! Hopefully Little Fluff will start sleeping longer soon so I will be able to execute something interesting again…
Until then tell me what you think about the “Come over to the dark side”. Have you ever tried to do something creative with your nails? Let us know!
Have a Fabulous Friday lovelies and a wonderful, full of joy weekend!

It looks great!!!!
I used to use tape to get creative with my nails! Haven’t done it in awhile though. I would split the nail in half diagonally with the tape so it’d almost look like two triangles. I have to try this again!
awwww…I remember those days!

I never do anything except crackles or decals ughh..
I was wondering, could I also do the tips like this with regular polish, cause I dont have any pens!!

LOVING this look. I had no idea you could use stickytape on nail polish – it doesn’t pull it off? I’m using the miracle cure at the moment as my nails keep peeling and breaking and I can’t grow them very long :( Must get back in to manicuring my nails to give them a sturdy cover to not peel and hopefully break so much.
fabulous nails and awesome tutorial!!! I love your blog:)
