Prabal Gurung inspired nails – how to
Even though I wasn’t there in person, I kept a close online eye on the proceedings at New York Fashion Week this year. It wasn’t just new clothing designs that grabbed my attention, there were some amazing nail designs too. After seeing Prabal Gurung’s bloody (or dripping) nails, I was inspired to try the look myself. Shortly after the photo of my freshly painted nails was posted on Instagram TracyLee, the celebrity manicurist (AKA The Great Nail Ninja) who originally created this bloody manicure for Prabal Gurung, left a nice comment! How flattering!!! Anyway, want to know how to re-create this look yourself? Read on dear reader…
Here we go:
1. Apply one coat of nude nail polish. Make sure you leave enough time for this coat to set properly. I used OPI Coney Island Cotton Candy.
2. Draw a thin line along tip of your nail with deep burgundy or plum nail polish and then draw the dripping pattern. I used Revlon Vixen. Make sure the pattern is thick – it emulates that dripping effect. You can do it with the same nail polish brush. No specific tools required.
Enjoy!
