L’Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival 2012: Runway 7 – Harper’s Bazaar

Today I’m sharing with you the most memorable moments of the Runway 7 show presented by Harper’s Bazaar that I attended as a part of L’Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival 2012. I’d call this show the “All Stars” event. Fabulous evening gowns and cocktail dresses to die for by high end Australian fashion designers Collette DinniganScanlan & Theodore, Aurelio Costarella, Camilla & MarcRachel GilbertAlex Perry and Toni Maticevski.

Daring sequins and bright color at Rachel Gilbert. How gorgeous is this sequinned orange dress?

colette dinnigan, lmff 2012, harpers bazaar runway 7, dresses in lace

Collette Dinnigan true to her style, presented gorgeous evening dresses in lace.

camilla and marc, pleated skirt, draped dress, teal and lace dress, fashion trends, lmff 2012, sydney fashion blog

Draping and pleating in teal, black and off white at Camilla and Marc. Simple but nice.

scanlan and theodore, australian fashion designer, lmff 2012 runway 7, teal and balck dresses, sydney fashion blog

Mesmerizing art deco styles with feathers & embellished lace at Scanlan & Theodore

aurelio costarella, lmff 2012, runway 7, fashion designer australia

Aurellio Costarella’s collection was a standout of the show: bewitching feathers, wraps, ruffles and leather corsets.

toni maticevski, australian designer, loreal melbourne fashion festival 2012, evening gowns in black, chic style, sydney blogger

Evening gowns by Toni Maticevski to finish off this fantastic show. The model in the middle is new. I fell in love with this blonde panther after seeing her walking at LMFF this year.

Finale.

With the exception of the strikingly bright Rachel Gilbert’s collection the dominant colors of the Harper Bazaar’s runway were muted off white, tan, teal and black. While the rest of the fashion world moving towards clashing prints, neons and brights (even for evening fashion) our designers continue with the classic ‘red carpet’ colors. Evidence that Australian fashion moves in its own mysterious ways…

I am so pissed off that I didn’t get a chance to buy tickets to this show. So wanted to go to this one because they featured all of my fave designers! Designers I can’t afford but love to look at of course. Love the gold sequinned dresses too!! GORGEOUS!
