Neo-classic business chic
With Christmas holidays approaching fast it’s so difficult to concentrate on work. Surely, gifts and cocktail dresses are much more pleasant to think about rather than finances and business meetings. So to make the last working days fly, I decided to experiment with business wear.
First, the socks with shoes ‘street style staple’ was brought into the corporate world. The rationale behind that (or at least that’s how I justify this frivolous appearance) socks are great alternative to wearing stockings to the office during summer – breezy yet blisters-free. Secondly, new lengths: a usual knee high pencil skirt was replaced with a midi. I shall admit, midi is a difficult length. So if you’re willing to give it a go, pair it with high heels to avoid that short stumpy legs look. As for accessories, a vintage brooch from Russia and a metallic skinny belt to bring a little bit of femininity to the otherwise a very straightforward black and white look.
I wonder how far can we push boundaries of traditional corporate style? Is there a potential for neo-classic, to absorb all the recent flamboyancy of fashion? Or are they, traditional suit and office joined at the hip?
Outfit details: Zambessi business shirt, Zara skirt and bag (also seen here), belt ASOS, heels D&G, vintage brooch

WOow AND this duet matching socks § bloody lipstick (obviously) is enough to twist this “neo classical” vibrancy Here I must say Dear !!! Because the “Corporate Mistress” (kindly) can be an as versatile as enlightened Fashionista too (“Kind aesthete’s uber approving look”) . . .

I love the midi length skirt! And you pull it off so well.
I am only 5ft and a bit so no matter how high the heels, mid lenth skirts or dresses just leave me looking like a midget, hehe :)

You are such a stunner Maria!!!!! Love the socks with the shoes…I may have to try that..but I’ll never be able to pull it off!
I would love to try this look. But we’re currently on dress down mode in the office so I’m more on wearing my jeans and other non-business clothes. I agree, midi skirts are so difficult to rock and it’s better paired with heels.
I love your black and white outfit!
the skirt is perfect and I love the white socks
with those shoes on you.how did everyone in your office like it?
Thank you for your wonderful comment!
My office did like it! In fact, it became some kind of fashion at our work now.
