Out for a dinner: styling lace and jersey
This dress is one of my recent acquisitions. You might have seen it in the “Must Haves” post. I spotted it a while ago but delayed to buy because paying full price doesn’t appeal to me. Then, by lucky coincidence on the day my must have list was compiled, the dress went on sales. Tick & tick! Next day it was proudly hanging in my wardrobe.
I love this dress! It is a real multi-tasker and allows for so many different styles! Here is the look I styled for a dinner out. Just by adding lace stockings, statement ring and a hair-up-do, simple turtle neck dress becomes suitable for an evening. Its A-line silhouette hides my baby bump perfectly (thus, would definitely cover any type of belly). Would you say I am 8 months pregnant with a healthy 3kg baby? :)
I should also bring your attention to a patent leather clutch. I haven’t used it much as I wasn’t sure about styling. Finally the solution was found: it adds a splash of luxury and blends perfectly with the outfit for a night out. Dramatic evening mood is accentuated by keeping the whole look dark: deep jade color for nails, bordeaux clutch and black eyeliner for makeup.
P.S. Though, I was not as lucky with the beige cardigan also included in my ‘must have’ post. I went to get that cardi on a second day after publishing the post and it was sold out! Oh well, Sydney, the lesson is learnt: next time will buy and then tell…
