Opposites Attract
I have a tendency to seek out roomy, comfy clothes with clean cuts and high necks that look a bit nun-ish. It’s just something I can’t resist. Regardless of current fashions or trends, I keep accumulating similar looking styles. Even in the trendiest boutique, I’ll always find the nun-like gem.
This red and black dress for example, I dug through a pile of bodycon dresses until I found a solitary shift dress. You may also remember my white shift dress and checked shift dress that were also in high rotation. So the concept of the shift dress isn’t new but when it’s done in two contrasting colours that visually cut the shape in half, it brings it up to date with 2013. Adding long over the knee boots adds a striking contrast to this otherwise modest red and black outfit. It’s this simple addition that transforms the whole look. Opposites attract, fact!
Outfit detail: Zara dress (similar here), Zomp boots (similar here and here), a-la Chanel bag, Roberto Cavalli bracelet, vintage gold rings, Prada sunglasses.

Thank you Natali! xx
nun-like gems! Ha! nice expression! I love this shift dress, with the chopped in half color block it’s very cool.
Yep, nun-like gems always find their way into my wardrobe :) Thanks for the compliment! xx
I like this cut and shape of dress. I prefer this to a fitted dress actually. Looks gorgeous on you doll. I hope your weekend is going wonderfully xx
Thank you for your kind words Kizzy! Shift dresses rock! xx
super cool outfit!
Thank you Erica! x
This looks so great on you, I am very jealous. This is the exact shape I avoid like the plague as my curvy figure looks huge if not properly defined, and high necklines are death to me! I sometimes dream of having a column shape and being able to wear these type of clothes, the grass is always greener…. :)
