Socks with attitude

Here is another experiment in minimalism with an argyle pattern. All three of us went out for a dinner recently. As now my social life has significantly slowed down every occasion as an excuse to dress up a little bit. Inventing a look out of the ordinary by combining the usual suspects contents of my wardrobe is a quite entertaining process. The ideas are coming out during long sleepless nights while trying to settle the little one. I guess that’s my brain’s protective mechanism against sleep deprivation and that keeps me sane during the difficult times.

Some ideas are just brilliant! I thought the other night about layering. Instead of the typical shirt over t-shirt I went for a structured and clean look.  Despite the sophisticated impression of that look, it actually consists of basics we all have in our wardrobes. Simple black turtle neck jumper, mini skirt and knitted top.

What is original about that then you ask? Socks, I say. Argyle patterned socks which were purchased without any purpose but purely for their pattern many years ago and travelled with me from continent to continent. In fact they have never been worn before and last week it was their first public appearance. I must say these socks got a lot of attention. So I am keen to create some more outfits with their involvement.

Seriously, how easy is this styling trick? Just add patterned socks or stockings to your outfit and the whole attitude changes.

What do you think?

I like your outfit and I like the socks. Here is summer and I think that it’s dark for the summer, but I think that in Australia people are in winter and it’s a good outfit for this season.

And these patterned socks (absolutely) do not fail to dazzle as an (as sublimating as surprising ) twist of Glam indeed Here ! OR when a (well-paired) acccessory is far to be an insignificant stylish detail . . .
ps: These socks influence the Attitude BUT your obvious prestance initially makes the difference too I must add . . .
