The side slit

high side split midi skirt, corporate style, spring fashion, what to wear to work

Zara top and skirt (similar skirt here), vintage sheer top, D&G heels, Diva ring

That is what I wore to a meeting last week. My favorite office wear piece, the turtle neck shell top (also seen here) layered over a sheer long sleeved top paired with a cheeky midi skirt. Why cheeky? Well, look at that tight-high side slit! If it was not there this austere minimalist ensemble would suit a nun. Also just for something different, I added little white socks, same as worn here. Simple yet elegant.

My meeting went well, by the way… and what do you think dear reader about the side slit in the office? Or is too much for the corporate world? Would love to know your thoughts!

xx

I love the slit!! Marvelous outfit!! I think the slit is nice for a difference and see nothing wrong with it for work, if someone complains then let them,a s long as one doesn’t get harassed, it’s good to dress nice for work/meeting and be able to still express you in your clothes!! You look stunning!! xx

If anything, my skirts have a slight slit on the back of the skirt. I feel like my office would have a problem with my outfit, even if no one says anything to my face. But you manage to pull it off with a lot of conservative class still! Maybe I just need to rework my office style then :)

How could the meeting go anything other than well ! You look killer sleek in that ensemble – almost makes me want to work in an office again ! The turtle layered vest just takes it to another level. Spot On Maria ! Love it x

Hello! First of all sorry for not visiting your blog so often, sometimes I just don’t handle everything(you know, full time job, mother of two, gym, house works, gym!!!!!).
Secondly let me say that you look S.T.U.N.N.I.N.G!!!!! I really LOVE that dress, I think is the best working dress I’ve seen in a long time: it is elegante(and bit sexy), serious enough and SO modern(the look reminds me Celine style)!!!!
Really enjoyed seeing you looking better than ever!!!!

The slit would be too much at my teaching job – but it looks great on you and I’m guessing you’re promoting yourself as a stylist/marketer extraordinaire. SO happy to be back online and catching up with your blog Maria! You’re rocking that sequin jacket all over town and I’m extremely envious! Sydney has such a different fashion attitude from Brisbane, and I’m loving the more sombre minimalist vibe at the moment too. And crucially I find it goes rather well with Wellington boots!

This outfit is totally fierce! The slit is definitely a bit risqué for the office but to be honest my attention is more on those little white socks! So unconventional. I love it! xx
