When summer meets winter: styling tips

Styling long boots, white summer dress, knitted beret, black chocker, street style, Sydney, Marusya V, styling tips, fashion blog, crashingred

You can feel it. Summer is leaving Sydney. It is getting colder and windier every week. Am I sad? Well, I am actually excited about being able to dress up properly! Hello, lovely printed stockings, hats, gloves, scarfs, boots and leather. Let the real styling begin!

My first autumnal outfit (pictured) embraces both – summer and winter, – Sportsgirl whimsical shirt-dress and long leather boots. To make the dress and boots work together I added black knitted beret and black knitted chocker with crystals to my look. By the way, this chocker is quite a treasure, I acquired it 15 years ago during my first visit to London and it still rocks!

Also, I bet, the beret will be the next big trend – just wait a bit when everybody’s obsession with hats is over ;) shish! About hats & stuff will tell you in another post.

I love this– you make black and white look so hip and modern! I’m kind of secretly happy that summer is ending in Australia because it means that we in North America will finally be getting our summer!!! but I also know that fall brings lots of great anticipation in dressing in actual clothes like sweaters and pants :P

    Have a lovely day!

What a sweet dress! I especially love the black hat and the dress together. For me, transitioning from spring to winter, I’ve been pairing pastel skirts with black tights and my usual boots and a light cardigan. Also I just thrifted this great floral print maxi skirt that I’ll be pairing with a tshirt and leather jacket. I think I like mixing florals and pastels with dark colors to help me feel like both seasons are present.

Thanks for stopping by my blog!

Such a good outfit. Work those legs! I agree too, it means summer is coming around for us here in North America.

Your outfit is gorgeous & so are you :-) I love black & white together & I’m obsessed with everything you can put on your head, be it hats, headpieces, bows, berets…all are fab :-)
While I’m longing for summer, I don’t have plans what exactly to wear when it gets warmer. Actually I’m always wearing black, this summer I’ll try to break my routine (at least a little bit), so I’m looking forward to how that’ll work :-D

Thank you very much for your sweet comment on my blog :-) I’m following now, would be great if you followed back.

Glad to see a fellow fashion blogger originating from Siberia! ;)
I do like this outfit; the airy fabric and the loose cut of the dress take the edge away from your aggressive leather boots and beret/choker make the outfit look playful and somewhat french-like :)

All I can say is… WOW!!

You have such a pretty face, the top hides your form, while the stunning boots slim you down again, showing that you are every but the stunna.

I could imagine you wearing this to the beach sometime, slipping off the top to reveal the day’s bikini…

You look like Modesty Blaise in those boots! Love ’em! I don’t know whether to ask you to marry me or send you to eliminate ISIS.
