Chanel Resort 2013 – punk rock romance in Versailles
Karl Lagerfeld never fails to surprise. Imagine punk rocker meets hip-hop princess in the eighteenth century France. That was essentially the recent Chanel Resort 2013 collection presented in Louis Quatorze’s eighteenth-century court at Versailles. Wearable or not, it doesn’t really matter as Chanel’s creations, lets admit (sadly), aren’t for mere mortals. However, we can still take some clues on what we’ll be wearing in the future as Karl is one of those elite visionaries who dictate fashion trends.
As you can see lovelies, it is suggested that 2013 fashion will be all about prettiness – pastel colours, layers of tulle, frills, feminine baby doll dresses with embellishments or embroidery accessorised with heavy jewelled chokers. The girlishness of these looks is balanced by tough flatforms.
Note the hair and makeup. No need to shock your boss by dying your hair pink, Karl offers us a great solution – just wear coloured wig!
Feel free lovelies, to express your thoughts about the collection. We’d like to know ;)

I’m all about the pastels! So feminine and pretty. Xx
This totally reminds me of Harajuku style. Love, love, love the pastels.
I looove the mega shorts! The tulle dresses are so pretty and loving the pastels, I also like the collar on the rose dress :)
Love! All that candy colouredness. Oh I die.
Gorgeous pastels! Love the dresses. I don’t think I’d wear them all, but some are ok! xx

I love pastels but really not loving the designs if I’m honest. Impractical and like something out of the renaissance gone wrong. Obviously just my personal opinion.
Karl is my personal god, I guess haha.
