Resort 2013 – my favorite fashion trends

Even though fashion weeks presenting Spring Summer 2013 are popping up like fireworks all around the world, I still can’t get over Resort collections. Whether you follow fashion trends or not, haute couture is something that us mortals can only dream about. However, it still can serve as a source of inspiration when updating your wardrobe or creating new looks out of what you already have. Simply by adding new accessories. So here are some of the most notable looks and ideas from my style inspiration board.
1. 3.1 Phillip Lim (image above): surely after the recent domination of florals, you can find a piece or two of this merry pattern in your wardrobe. What Mr Lim suggests is a pairing with something stripy and throw a monochrome jacket on top. Alternatively, for a Phillip-Lim-esque look pair your statement sweater with slouchy pants, preferably in leather or maybe try the fitted white T & white mini look.
2. Balenciaga: heavy leather pieces combined with delicate feminine dresses . I especially adore that mini leather vest, could be a great addition to almost any ensemble.
3. Celine: to Celine-ify your look add a scarf around the neck to a tailored suit or add a bright orange piece to an all white ensemble. Leopard print worn with white is also present, remember Stella McCartney’s collection?
4.Reed Krakoff: monotone ensembles in beige with the strategic addition of a bright colour in a form of layered tanks.
So what do you think lovelies? Will you be incorporating some of the new looks from Resort 2013 into your current fashion routine?

I like the slightly preppy feel of the 3.1 Phillip Lim looks and in love with the cutout sections in the Balenciaga pieces xx
Great trend breakdown Maria… I’m loving all the white and muted shades with only a pop of brights… that feels really right for a Sydney summer.
